Just in case you don't have time (or means) to get yourself a copy and read it, I’ve put together a quick list of the three biggest lessons I learned from reading the book (as well as a warning of sorts). I do recommend that you pick up a copy and keep it on your desk, next to your outline (assuming you’re a plotter of course). It’s an interesting and easily digestible book that is full of a lot of valuable information for almost anyone who is writing a book (or thinking about it). You should read this book (I plan on re-reading it this year). Excuses aside, I did read a little, and one of the things that I did read was Save the Cat! Writes a Novel. I used “tired” as a short form for I lack motivation ( see here for a good set of goals for tackling 2022!), which any new parent can surely sympathize with. Part of it was due to being abundantly busy with work, but another part of it was being too tired to read (I admit that this is an excuse that I use too often). In addition to work issues, my first year as a parent, and struggling with all the same things that we have all needed to deal with, I didn’t read very much.
